First Things First.
We do not create traditional interiors. Everything Red Notebook does has classic appeal – or at least that’s the goal -- but it will have a twist. Mid-century modern chairs with a Victorian Tiger oak pedestal table. A white porcelain sink in a Brazilian cherry box inspired by Shaker design on an antique black table. A salvaged farm sink in an Ikea cabinet base.

Red Notebook Studio is an affordable alternative or adjunct to an architect or interior designer. We charge a reasonable hourly rate, and most jobs take only 10 to 12 hours of measuring, talking and drawing to complete the design for.

We think homeowners should have the loudest voice in the way a room is put together, and we think that architects and traditional interior designers generally think they know better than you. They probably do know design better, but there is no way they know you better. Their education and confidence can be intimidating, however, and you might not speak up for what you want. We won’t scare you because we are uneducated and meek.

We want to empower you to create your own space, and we’ll give you guidance and ideas and starting points and practical suggestions and criticism and most of all we’ll help you define and refine your own taste, and we'll keep an eye out for cool stuff you might like. If you want to bring a traditional design team into the process, Red Notebook will help you get your head on straight before you do, saving you time, money and aggravation.

We can also make all the decisions if you don’t care what it looks like. But don’t blame us if you don’t like white vinyl.
